The South Bay’s Most Talented Teenage Amateur Vocalists Compete for $2500!
Auditions begin Sunday January 29th, 2012 from 9am-5pm at the JCC. Just 20 people will be selected to go to the Semi-Finals Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at 5pm. Ten people will be chosen and go on to compete for SOUTH BAY TEEN IDOL on March 31st, 2012. This professionally choreographed show is open to the public! A panel of professionals in the entertainment field will judge the auditions, semi-finals and finals.
“An artistic competition is a great way for people of all backgrounds to showcase their unique individuality and to meet and befriend each other in a meaningful and fun environment. We’re excited to be convening the entire community to celebrate such great talent and diversity,” says Hal Bordy, CEO of the JCC.
All 8th-12th-grade students are eligible to compete. The minimum age is 13.There is a $20 entry fee. Auditions are limited to the first 300 people. Lines will not be formed until 8am on January 29th 2012. Teens must be prepared to sing a song of their choice, a cappella. The grand prize winner will take home $2500! Scholarships will be awarded to 2nd and 3rd place winners! The grand prize winner’s school will get $500 for his or hers Music Department! Seating is limited to 350 people for the finals and semi-finals. Semi- finals are free, a general admission ticket to the finals is $25.
