• InsideLG Welcomes StorySnoops.com to our Family

    InsideLG is excited to announce a partnership with StorySnoops.com, a Los Gatos Company! No, StorySnoops is not an online gossip website; it is actually a team of four amazing Los Gatos moms who have worked hard to read hundreds of children’s books and report content back to parents, librarians, and teachers. Not only do they individually review books, but they also gather important keywords and information they believe will be of interest to parents. Thanks to this dedicated group of moms, parents no longer need to spend their time determining whether a book is appropriate for a certain age group. Just look your book up at StorySnoops.com and get all the details you need to make an informed decision.

    The four moms consist of Tiffany Boltz, Shannon Knowlton, Eden Manseau, and Jennifer Nagel. Between them, they have nine children. According to their website, "StorySnoops was founded to help parents find fiction that fits the unique interests and experiences of their own children."

    Meet the women behind the concept:

    Tiffany Boltz
    President Parent Teacher Association
    High Tech Fraud Investigator
    Private Investigator

    Bachelor of Arts, University of California, Irvine

    The Scoop on Tiffany
    {by her fellow Snoops}
    Tiffany enjoys a life-long love affair with the written word. This living, breathing discussion guide remembers the plot, title, and author of every book she's ever read. Always the first to arrive at any given occasion, Tiffany is the calm one you want to call in an emergency. Commanding and confident, she would drop anything to help a friend or family member. We value Tiffany's drive, determination, and willingness to take on the tough teen topics at breakneck speed.

    Shannon Knowlton
    Software Sales Representative
    Software Order Administrator
    Early Childhood Education Teacher

    Bachelor of Science, Santa Clara University
    Loyola University of Chicago, Rome Center

    The Scoop on Shannon
    {by her fellow Snoops}
    Shannon is a discriminating reader with the capacity to put her finger on the right book for the right person. She has particular empathy for readers with sensitive souls. An amazing advocate for her children, Shannon is funny, self-deprecating, and a loyal friend. We value Shannon's insight, speed-reading ability, and eagerness to dive into any project.

    Eden Manseau
    Software Direct Marketing Manager
    Customer Service Representative
    Teamsters Pension Auditor

    Bachelor of Arts, University of California, Berkeley
    Universidad Complutense, Madrid

    The Scoop on Eden
    {by her fellow Snoops}
    An avid reader, Eden enjoys sharing her love of books with others. Despite her annoying ability to do crossword puzzles in pen, Eden is irresistibly likeable, with the unique ability to put anyone at ease. A smart, logical thinker, she demonstrates a steadfast resolve that no task is insurmountable. We value Eden's tact, analytical skills, and uncompromising attention to detail.

    Jennifer Nagel
    Personal Trainer
    Wardrobe Stylist
    Legal Assistant
    Advertising Executive

    National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer
    Boston College Law School
    Bachelor of Arts, The Pennsylvania State University

    The Scoop on Jen
    {by her fellow Snoops}
    Jen is an enthusiastic, diverse reader that is open to all types of genres. Utterly unable to procrastinate, Jen doesn't sleep until the task she's set her sights on is complete. And she never misses a workout--ever. With a disarming sense of humor, she is the kind of friend that never tells your secrets and always seems to have a great answer when her kids ask the dreaded awkward questions. We value Jen's vision, diligence, and willingness to power through the most inane book series without too many complaints.

    Both Angela and I have children in Los Gatos schools who are avid readers. I was recently complaining to a friend, Joell, that reading books to determine if they were appropriate for my oldest daughter has been taking up more and more of my time. Although I enjoy it, I just don’t always have the time to do it, and, as a result, I have been reading less and less for myself. Joell mentioned StorySnoops, and I have been in love with the site ever since. Not only is it very informative, but it is also easy to navigate, and the searching abilities are awesome.

    Every Monday, InsideLG will post a a book review and, every Friday, we will post a blog from one of the insightful women at StorySnoops.com. In addition, when the StorySnoops have a special event, we will post those details on our site too. For example, in celebration of Children's Book Week 2011, StorySnoops.com will be running an interview series May 2nd-May 7th. Guests will include highly esteemed and beloved children's book authors, including Pulitzer Prize-winning humor columnist Dave Barry, Newbery Medal-winner Clare Vanderpool, Cressida Cowell, Wendy Mass, Richard Newsome, and Stephanie Barden. Please look to InsideLG for updates.

    We hope you will utilize their site as much as we have. It is wonderful resource and we are so proud that it started in Los Gatos!

    Please visit www.StorySnoops.com for more information about their informative website.

      Story Snoops sounds like a great addition to your website! This site should be useful for teachers, friends, grandparents, as well as parents. Young readers should be able to get ideas here, also.
